Evanescent Autumn
A short trip to Blackheath was, simply put, colourful! I had no idea Wentworth Street hosts a riot of autumn hues when I loosely suggested it as a destination for a short team-trip. Colossal maple and oak trees decked up the road for perfect fall frames - their steadfast trunks were easels, five lobed palmate leaves were mini canvases, and the evanescent autumn was the crackerjack painter! We cheered, chortled, and checked each tree by the street for some unforgettable captures before gorging on wraps, burgers, gozlemes to satiate our grumbling tummies.
Slaked, we set out to explore a couple of nearby spots with panoramic view of a fragment of the mighty Blue Mountains. Escarpments and gum tree-washed hill tops were fiery in the soft warm rays of the setting sun. But nature is capricious. Minutes after sundown, Govetts Leap got freakishly foggy. The view obstinately refused to draw the veil and reveal its bucolic beauty, and we refused to budge without our share of captures - with nothing but fog in the background. Between our bouts of clicks, the clouds scudded away briefly to sketch a mystic piece of art - wisps of receding fog clinging on to tree tops. We wowed joyously and hopped into our cars for a long drawn drive back home.
