Cattai's Kangaroos
During long drives, we keep our eyes peeled to capture kangaroos in the wild. Except for a couple of fortuitous moments, these elusive crepuscular marsupials camouflage well with their surroundings to evade our bridled vision. At times, distressing scenes of a staggering number of road kills mouldering by the highway from Canberra leading to Jindabyne, compelled us to even pray to keep these docile critters off the vicinity of our roads and visions.
But last afternoon was simply serendipitous.
We set out for mall, yet turned the driving wheel to roll the car to a lazy serene drive to Cattai National Park in stead. And bada-bing! There they were - live, healthy, and at ease in the wild among the bright flowers and lush greens that flank Hawkesbury River. We clicked to our hearts' content and earmarked the place to bring friends and families for face to face photography with this endemic iconic fauna.
Ear twitching and turning was amusing to watch
