Macaw at Mrs Macquarie's Chair

Scars from a recent fall concealed under the sleeves, and vestigial pain buried beneath a smile, I ventured out for Mrs Macquarie's Chair with my spouse and son. The long tedious walk from Circular Quay, was suddenly rendered colourful by a friendly, vibrant, and extremely unusual pet of an elderly co-walker. Bereft of stranger-anxiety, the exotic beauty, a macaw, hopped onto our arms, and shoulders at ease to pose for some perfect clicks. Slaked, we padded along the walkway though Royal Botanic Garden towards our destination. This spot offers a clear panoramic view of the majestic sails and the Harbour Bridge together. It's arguably the best precinct to experience New Year's fireworks. But an afternoon right in the middle of the year has no such events to offer; so, we waited close to an hour in the wintry chill for the setting sun to put up a spellbinding show! Needless to mention, we were generously rewarded. Regaled, we returned home with a trove of memories to cherish. Here are a few from today's album.
